Day 19

I tried once again to get a shot of a white flower.

Day 19

I can't seem to figure out how to get a decent shot of something white. I'm going to have to try to find some techniques that work eventually. Maybe buy a flowering plant as a prop would help.

Have to remember that most cameras will meter white and try to convert it to an 18% gray. The D-Metering and other newer fancy metering systems do a decent job of compensating for that, but if you really want white to be white, you need to manually adjust your exposure to compensate.

The other hard part is that white picks up whatever other colors are present in your light. So if you're in the shade or clouds, it'll tend to become more blue/gray unless you compensate with a fill-flash, or a bounce card.
